An Open Letter from the Empire Brewfest Advisory Board

Dear Fellow Craft Beer Enthusiast,

    Greetings. The Empire Brewfest Advisory Board is a group of volunteers that came together early last fall to work with the event organizer to help them create a World Class beer event in 2012 and beyond.  We love the Empire Brewfest and want to see it become the most prestigious summer outdoor beer festival in the northeast.

    Who are we?  We are 14 people that have a passion for craft beer and craft beer events, and we take pride in Syracuse as the host to this event.  We are a diverse group representative of the crowd you see at the event.  We have been meeting with the organizer since early last fall and will continue to meet right up until the gates open at the 2012 event.

    There are several changes coming to this summer’s event.  The changes include a new, faster system of entry into the event, the return to a larger, 5 ounce, sampling glass,  and new and improved food options. You will see the event’s growth with more variety of beer, expanded brewer presence, many first time event breweries, and, new in 2012, onsite brewer presentations.  In addition there will be a major announcement about this year’s event later this Spring.  We already know what it is.  We love it and are sure  you will be thrilled after hearing the news.  Stay tuned.
